Spain and Portugal still favored destinations for Cheap Holidays
Even though many predicted that vacations to European countries such as Portugal and Spain are still near the top of the UK’s tourists cheap holidays lists. With the recently increased animosity between travelling companies, and all the bad weather at home, many vacationers have sought out cheap places to get away from it all. Some theorize that regardless of all other things, Portugal will always be appealing to the British due to the fact that it has such awesome beaches and cheap flights. Also, due to the recession, places that might have been too expensive for some in the past are now much more affordable.
As the weather gets wetter, Spain has seen a 119% increase in online searches when compared to last year. No one wants to spend the holidays in a muggy place, and Spain is far from that! If you want to get away to the beach but away from large, noisy crowds, try heading a little away from the big cities. You’ll find quieter, calmer beaches, with plenty of shops still to go around.
Spain is not the only vacation grounds that have seen a spike in interest since the UK’s weather got worse; Croatia’s Dubrovnick has had a whopping 129% boost, and America’s Hawaii has seen a 90% boost in online searches.
While the previous nay-sayers may argue that it’s just coincidence, and that the rates of tourists and vacationers to Spain are bound to drop soon, I wouldn’t pay them too much attention. Everyone wants to get away from everyday stresses sometimes, and Spain, with its perfect beaches, fun atmosphere, and cheap prices, is one of the perfect places to go and enjoy Cheap Holidays 2010
The exchange rate is nice, the people are friendly, the shops are awesome, and the beaches will leave you with a variety of memories when you return home. It’s the kind of place that you can go solo, bring a group of friends, or even bring the family. The experience will definitely leave you wanting more, and I’d not be surprised if you planned a return trip on your next vacation.
